Training and Supervision

Every new home educator commences her training by receiving twelve to sixteen hours of instruction covering the various aspects of intervention including Total Communication, Visual Learning and Supporting Children in the Community. This is followed by another twelve to sixteen hours of shadowing established educators while discussing their observations with a consultant educator within the Foundation.

Once a home educator is assigned clients, supervisory/training sessions are carried out every six to eight weeks with each client.

In conjunction with the Programme for Inclusive Education at the University of Malta, regular training sessions are held, often including foreign speakers. Besides this, regular monthly training sessions are held for all the home educators.
